How to Use A Focus Sheet

If you are someone who values your time and needs to stay organized to be as productive as possible, you should be using daily focus sheets. People who live busy lives in and out of the office use tools to help them to stay on task and on time, so they can get their best, most important projects done, without wasting time trying to figure out what else they have to complete.

Many people have a lot on their plates, and wear many hats these days. That's why having something that keeps them focused on specific tasks for the day is extremely helpful.

What is a focus sheet?

A focus sheet is a sheet of paper that is designed to help you stay organized and on-task for the day. In other words, it's a daily organizer that keeps you focused on the most important things for the day. Instead of having several pages of a planner to flip through, a focus sheet is your life for the day at a glance.

Write Mind Studio has beautifully designed focus sheets that include:

  • A to do list
  • Day start and end times
  • Water tracker
  • Meal log
  • Appointment schedule
  • Notes

The focus sheet even includes some positive mindset tools like a gratitude log, an emotion scale to record how you're feeling, and a daily wins section. It's the perfect tool to stay focused on daily tasks and to be mindful of your thoughts and feelings throughout the day.

How to Use A Focus Sheet

Using a daily focus sheet is quite simple. Focus sheets typically come in notepad form. If you purchase the printable download, you can print off one sheet to use each day, or you can use it with your iPad or tablet to digitally markup the page. If you're using Write Mind Studio's focus sheet, instructions on how to use it are below.

  1. Fill in the date and mark the day of the week.
  2. Then, enter the start time of your day. This may also be a good time to fill in the gratitude and emotion scale sections.
  3. Complete your to do list and use the key to mark the importance or type of each item listed. You can also fill in your to do list the night before to prepare yourself for the next day.
  4. Include any appointments or phone calls you need to make for the day, under the appointments section.
  5. Mark off the water glasses as you drink water throughout the day to stay updated on how your water intake is going.
  6. Log your meals as you have them in the meals section.
  7. Jot down any notes you need in the notes section.
  8. At the end of the day, or as they happen, write down the wins you experience, to keep track of your achievements.
